MTCC – COAC – Post Flood Rebuilding Initiative

Malaysia faced torrential downpours throughout the peninsula, which resulted in
floods, affecting eight states across the country. At least 48 were dead and 5 missing.
During its furthest extent in December 2021, it caused the displacement of
more than 71,000 residents.

As a result, MTCC worked with the Center for Orang Asli Concerns (COAC) and
raised 215,480 baht for this post-flood rebuilding initiative to almost 800 households
mainly in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. All donations to this rebuilding
initiative have been channeled to COAC to support relief and recovery efforts in
flood-impacted communities for repairing damaged homes and infrastructure in
February 2022.
